Summer Update

Image
As I said yesterday, It's been a busy summer. Here's an update. The Ocean Spray we transplanted has died. Gonna try again. My knee is healing, slowly. I have periods with no pain now. I've been getting Physical Therapy which is helping quite a bit. We went on our annual week long camping trip to Priest Lake. It was a lot of fun. I did a lot of walking, which was hard on my sprained knee, but I think in the long run it was good for me. Despite the knee, I find I'm in much better physical shape than I've been in a long time. For instance, the walk from our camp site to the beach involves a steep hill. I've always had to huff and puff my way up it. This year I didn't huff and puff. That was a surprise. One day we went on a hike up Lionshead Creek trail. I wanted to go up to my favorite place on this trail. I forgot my main camera, but I had my phone with me. It took surprisingly good pictures. One of the granite peaks viewed from the parking lot of the trail. I...

Doll Knitting

Image
I've been knitting doll clothes. Mostly to fit my Iplehouse JID dolls. I've made a couple sweaters that don't look like much in these pics. However, they fit my dolls perfectly. I'll be taking pictures of them wearing these eventually. I've made some hats too. Getting closer to putting some new things in my Etsy store. I've also started a cross stitch project. I'm not sure what it is, but at this time of year I get a hankering for cross stitch. A couple of years ago I found an awesome set of free cross stitch patterns on a blog called Mini Star Trek. I am working on something using them. Mine will have 19 characters from the original series. I've finished the first two. Can you guess who they are? We got some snow last night. Just an inch. It spent the day melting. Winter weather is in the forcast. I don't think I've been blogging about my hot tub woes. In October, as a matter of routine, I emptied the hot tub to clean it, and the filter. I got i...

WIP Wednesday Again

Image
I've got 2 knit projects in the works for this post. First, I've started the second of a pair of gold child's mittens. They'll be size 4-6. I've also got the knitting done for the matching hat to the entrelac cardigan. Just needs blocking and sewing together the pieces. Still haven't found a pattern I like for entrelac booties. This week we are having glorious spring weather. Sunshine, blue sky, and fluffy clouds. It's very warm. I've been opening windows and doors and blowing out the winter staleness. The hot tub is leaking yet again. I've told sweet hubby I give up. I'm tired of dealing with it. The damn thing is over 50 years old and it's reached the end of it's life. He's not willing, yet, to let go, so I leave it to him as to what to do next. If we could just figure out where the leaks are, we could probably fix it, but alas. I had some problems with my new vacuum cleaner over the weekend. It would not suck. I discovered that I...
