WIPs For Today

Thought I'd post a couple WIP pics. I've been working on this cardigan for the next layette set. I just need to find some buttons for it. I started the hat for it. I don't know if I'm going to continue making these for this whole year, but for now I'm content to make another set. I need to finish the black and white set I'm making for the nephew and his wife, who are expecting any day now. I just need to get the edging on the blanket fabric. I've also been working on the Felt Applique stocking . It's coming along nicely. Don't have much snow out on the ground. Maybe 4 to 6 inches. Kind of unusual for this time of year, but not unheard of. I remember having a winter when I had my shop (early 2000's) where I needed to have my parking lot plowed only 3 times the whole winter. Layette Set #37

This is the first officially finished project of 2019. Layette set 37 will go to KnitWits. The Cardigan Pattern : Polka Dot Cardigan by Linda Jo Park Size : 3-6 months Yarn : Cloverleaf  by American Thread Company Content : 100% Acrylic, worsted weight Color : 348 Tangerine Yarn : UnKnown Acrylic, but probably a Red Heart yarn Content : 100% Acrylic, worsted weight Color : Medium Teal ? Needles : Circular size 6 and 8 Started : December 25, 2018 Finished : January 3, 2019 Comments : This is the third prototype of my design. Checking to make sure I've got it right. This is the back. Here is a close up of the stitch pattern. It's a 2-color Moss stitch. I had a very hard time finding buttons to go with these colors. I found these ones online at Embellishment Buttons on Etsy. It's not what I really wanted, but they'll do I guess. Mini Star Trek Progress

This is where I'm at on the Mini Star Trek cross stitch project. All the characters are done. I'm about half done with the names of the characters. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do for a border and I want to put something at the top. Perhaps the words "to boldly go" or something like that, and a little Enterprise ship somewhere. After a week of gorgeous weather, we are having a rainy day, which I am enjoying immensely. The cleaned gutter is working perfectly. There is no more waterfall coming down in front of the back door. It was worth the effort. The knee is healing. I have been able to sleep in my bed the past 2 nights, fairly comfortably too, for the first time since spraining my knee. I have enjoyed the sleep so much, and I think getting sleep is helping the knee heal faster. I've got times during the day with no pain. I'm also getting some energy back.
